Cancer — September 2026

Monthly forecast

water sign
*Mars* is leaving your sign on 22 September, and you are going to grieve this like a bereavement. You've had energy. Actual, physical, get-things-done energy. You've probably redecorated a room, started an argument you actually finished, and felt briefly like a person who has their life together. And then Mars will walk into *Leo* and take all of that with it, leaving you standing in your beautifully reorganised kitchen wondering why you feel tired just looking at the washing up. The overarching theme this month is that you've been mistaking momentum for transformation, and September is the month you'll find out the difference. The *New Moon* falls on 11 September in *Virgo*, activating your third house. Third house is communication, short trips, the small logistics of daily life. You will, in the wake of this moon, feel a powerful urge to sort things out, to send the email, to have the conversation, to book the thing. Some of this will be excellent. Some of it will be you texting your ex a paragraph that begins "I just want you to know" at 11pm on a Thursday. The *New Moon* squares *Saturn* in *Aries* sitting in your tenth house of career and public reputation. Before you hit send on anything significant, sleep on it. Actually sleep on it, not lie in the dark rehearsing your follow-up. *Jupiter* is in *Leo*, your second house of money and self-worth, and it is doing exactly what *Jupiter* does in the second house, which is making everything feel abundant and nothing feel expensive. You will buy something this month that you cannot justify. You know this already. You've probably already identified the thing. And you'll buy it anyway, because you will construct a narrative about how you've been through a lot and you deserve nice things, and that narrative will feel airtight at the time of purchase and completely transparent approximately three days later when the confirmation email arrives. A note on *Jupiter* in *Leo* and Cancer's particular relationship with it: you won't just spend. You'll spend on other people, and then feel vaguely resentful that nobody noticed the sacrifice, and then feel guilty about feeling resentful, and then buy yourself the thing to compensate. This is a three-act tragedy that takes place entirely in your own head while the other people involved are watching television and thinking about nothing. The *Full Moon* on 27 September lands in *Aries*, directly in your tenth house, and *Saturn* is already there waiting for it. Something at work gets illuminated. A project, a title, a working arrangement you've quietly resented for longer than you've admitted. You'll feel exposed in a professional context, and your response will be to become extremely helpful to everyone around you as a way of not looking directly at the thing that's bothering you. You're very good at this. People will think you're thriving. You'll know better. *Venus* moves from *Libra* into *Scorpio* in the second half of the month, shifting through your fourth and fifth houses. Your home life gets a certain intensity. Whoever you're living with, or whoever you wish you were living with, will occupy more of your thoughts than you'd like to admit. You won't say this out loud. You'll make them a meal instead. The thing you won't want to hear: you've been half-cancelling a subscription service for four months. You know which one. Every month you think about cancelling it, click into the settings, get annoyed by the process, and close the tab. You are paying twelve pounds a month to be frustrated by a button. Cancel it. Actually cancel it this time. You have enough going on without a monthly reminder that you're capable of letting something drain you indefinitely rather than deal with one irritating admin task. You are, underneath all of this, someone who cares enormously and builds carefully and loves more than you'll say out loud. September will test your patience with yourself. Try to be at least as kind to yourself as you are to everyone else you're currently feeding and texting and quietly worrying about at 2am. You're almost there.
